Autonomous Security and Surveillance with MOLIRIS
Autonomous robots for continuous
patrolling and protection
of industrial sites and critical areas
Autonomous patrol with MOLIRIS
The robot operates in industrial and outdoor environments to provide continuous surveillance, anomaly detection and on-site event verification.
MOLIRIS is an autonomous security solution based on ground rover robots capable of operating 24/7, in both indoor and outdoor environments, without requiring any dedicated infrastructure.
Thanks to multi-sensor detection systems, it supports professional security operations even in conditions where human observation is limited.
The system ensures operational continuity even in the absence of on-site personnel, contributing to reduced operating costs and increased staff safety.
The challenges of traditional security
Ensuring continuous coverage of large or complex areas is increasingly challenging
- Staff shortages and high turnover
The growing difficulty of recruiting qualified security personnel, combined with high staff turnover, makes it more challenging to organise reliable and continuous security services. - Cost of continuous security coverage
Providing 24/7 coverage requires dedicated resources and involves significant operating costs, particularly when patrolling large areas. - Risks to personnel
Verifying alarms, anomalies or suspicious situations may require personnel to enter hazardous, isolated or difficult-to-reach areas. - The need to verify events quickly
An alarm needs to be verified promptly to distinguish a genuine incident from a false alarm and enable operators to respond appropriately. - Activity traceability and documentation
MOLIRIS automatically records routes, timings, events, images and videos, providing complete and verifiable digital documentation of patrolling activities.
In many industrial and infrastructure environments, human security personnel can be supported by automation to provide greater continuity, faster response and improved traceability of security activities.
The MOLIRIS solution
An autonomous robot, ready for professional security operations
MOLIRIS is an autonomous rover designed to carry out patrolling, inspection and verification tasks in a continuous and reliable manner, without requiring structural changes or site infrastructure.
Navigation and spatial perception are based on the integration of advanced sensors (LiDAR, GNSS and cameras) and sophisticated perception and motion algorithms, allowing the system to be rapidly deployed in new or existing environments while ensuring safe, reliable and continuous movement in complex settings.
The system allows operators to:
- Define waypoints and patrol routes
- Navigate in complex indoor and outdoor environments, close to buildings as well as in open areas, even in the absence of structural references
- Automatically avoid obstacles along the planned trajectory
- Set virtual walls to restrict access to sensitive or restricted areas
- Detect anomalous acoustic events, such as gunshots, breaking glass and screams, to identify potential threats in the vicinity
- Capture images and collect targeted data relating to events, anomalies or points of interest
- Automate robot and sensor behaviour according to events and operating conditions
- Autonomously guide the robot to the MOLIRIS charging station
- Configure customised actions and behaviours according to operational requirements
The result is a stable, autonomous and adaptable platform, designed for real-world professional security scenarios.
MOLIRIS does not replace security personnel, but enhances their operational capabilities, providing continuous and objective field support.

What MOLIRIS does
Autonomous patrolling, verification and deterrence
MOLIRIS supports multiple operational modes, adapting to the security needs of each site:
Scheduled autonomous patrols
Planned patrol routes executed at predefined times, in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Event- or alarm-based intervention
The robot can be dispatched automatically or manually to a specific area where an alarm has been triggered, to verify the situation on site.
Intrusion and anomaly detection
Real-time analysis of visible and thermal imagery to detect unauthorised presence or abnormal situations, even in low-visibility conditions.
Automatic control of optional PTZ cameras
At predefined points of interest (POIs) along the route, MOLIRIS can automatically recall configured views from PTZ cameras to detect events, capture images or record short videos.
Two-way audio communication
Two-way audio allows the operator in the control centre to communicate directly with people near the robot, either to deter a potential intruder or to provide emergency instructions to personnel on site.
Event management and control room integration
The robot locally records data, images and video, and transmits events and alarms in real time to control rooms and operators, enabling coordinated and effective incident management.
Active deterrence presence
A continuous, visible and traceable physical presence that helps discourage unauthorised activity and increases the perception of security across the area.
Automatic response to operating conditions
The system can modify the robot’s behaviour according to predefined events or conditions. For example, in heavy rain or when the battery is low, the robot can interrupt its mission and automatically return to the charging station.
Greater coverage with a fleet of robots
Coordinated deployment of multiple MOLIRIS robots allows different areas of the same site to be covered simultaneously, distributing patrol missions according to operational requirements.
